Meet the Tiny Red Panda Making Zoo History!
A younger-reader version of Tiny Paws Make History: Connecticut Zoo Welcomes First-Ever Red Panda Cub.
A zoo in Connecticut has some exciting news: a baby red panda was born there for the very first time!
The little cub is a boy, and his parents are named Ponya and Pilot.
Zookeepers say the cub is doing well. He is eating, growing, and being cared for by the zoo’s animal care team before joining his parents in their habitat.
Red pandas are small animals with reddish fur and fluffy ringed tails. They spend lots of time in trees and enjoy eating bamboo.
This baby is especially important because his birth is part of a program helping zoos care for healthy red panda populations for the future.
What would you name a baby red panda?
